The Department of Energy has recently released the 2021 version of the Fuel Economy Guide – a resource for car buyers to compare vehicle efficiency of 2021 car models. For those unfamiliar with the report, the guide includes information on the financial and environmental benefits of improved fuel economy, a list of the most efficient vehicles by class, and information on the annual fuel cost and efficiency of 2021 car models. Notably, pages 38-48 include this information about alternative fuel cars, including hybrids and plug-in electrics. This is a great resource for those interested in comparing fuel economies, along with the fueleconomy.gov online tool that can be used to find and compare cars from past years, calculate fuel costs, and learn about the importance of fuel economy.
